One of the many arguments todays Christian apologist face is on the existence of a supernatural being, who is not only active in the world, but has authority and dominion over all. The skeptic person has increasing doubt when faced with the biblical truths found in scripture which will reveal the inner parts and exposes sin to its core. Here we have a resource that not only deals with the intellectual mind of this age with reasoning but a handbook for ministering to friends, family and co-workers who are experiencing emptiness and need answers.
The first half of the book deals with the subject of doubt and Keller gives some amazing stories to reference the fact. The second half confronts the reason for our faith and ties A & B doctrines together to form a concrete view on how to deal with the doubters.
“If Jesus rose from the dead, then you have to accept all that he said; if he didn’t rise from the dead, then why worry about any of what he said? The issue on which everything hangs is not whether or not you like his teaching but whether or not he rose from the dead.” – Tim Keller
We need to give a reason for the hope that is inside of us. 1 Pet.3:15 should be applied as our foundational text when confronting any criteria of individual. Currently this book hits home as I’m enrolled in a Apologetics course to not only further my reason to defend the Gospel but with gentleness and respect unpack the gift of salvation to blind eyes. I encourage anyone who desires to build on their faith with tools of reasoning to pick up this resource and supply answers to anyone who may ask of the hope that is inside us.
